Alex da Silva

Alex Da Silva, 41, a well-known salsa dancer who teaches at several Los Angeles dance studios, was taken into custody after teaching a class at a Hollywood studio and booked for investigation of sexual assault, Det. John Eum said. Da Silva, who was being held on $3.8 million bail, is scheduled to make his first court appearance Tuesday.
It wasn't immediately known whether the Brazilian-born Da Silva has retained an attorney. The voicemail for a phone number posted on his Web site was full and wouldn't accept messages. Da Silva had been accused in 2003, 2004 and 2005 of sexually assaulting three women, but for unknown reasons prosecutors declined to file charges, Eum said. A dancer and choreographer featured on the FOX television show "So You Think You Can Dance" was arrested Saturday on suspicion of sexually assaulting four of his dance students, police said.
Then on March 28, a fourth woman accused Da Silva of luring her to his home, using a ruse to get her into his bedroom and raping her. Detectives went back to interview the previous accusers, found similar accusations of being lured to Da Silva's bedroom and sexually assaulted by him, and reopened their cases. "These four women don't know each other at all, yet their reports read basically the same," the detective said. He noted that one of the accusers was a minor at the time of the alleged assault.

50 dollar computer

The 50 dollar computer has become a reality thanks to the new AT&T Netbook and the newest offer for Atlanta and Philadelphia residents. The 50 dollar computer has a catch, but getting an AT&T netbook notebook computer may make the catch worth it. Atlanta and Philadelphia users will be offered a very stripped down notebook computer for only $50 if they sign up for a two year high speed internet contract.
The model is nothing new, mobile phone companies have been doing it for years by offering a free or nearly free phone for a signed contract for mobile phone service. You can still get the $50 computer but it’ll cost more than $50 - Yes, I know it sounds weird but other companies offer the Netbook with different deals attached to it, this is just the offer from AT&T. Look for similar deals from Verizon and other wireless providers.
50 Dollar Computer - Some years ago, the notion of buying a computer for only $50 seem like an idea extracted from science fiction on a distant future, but thanks to the advances of technology, the first $50 computers are being offered to the public. The lucky people who can buy a 50 dollar computer can find them on Philadelphia and Atlanta. These inexpensive laptops are offered by AT&T and you can get them if you sign up for two years of Internet connection.

Life magazine

Life magazine photographer Henry Groskinsky was on assignment in Selma when he heard the bulletin on the radio: The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had been assassinated in Memphis. Life magazine photographer Henry Groskinsky was on assignment in Selma when he heard the bulletin on the radio: The Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. had been assassinated in Memphis.
On that April 4, 1968, evening, Groskinsky ended up in King’s hotel room, where the civil rights leader’s associates including Andrew Young and the Rev. Ralph David Abernathy Sr. were solemnly huddled. Surprisingly, there were few members of the press around the Lorraine Motel. “I felt like I was intruding,” he said. “It was like a wake.”
He captured a series of numbing images that, until Thursday —- when they were posted at Life magazine’s Web site, www.life.com —- had never been seen by the public. They are stark and powerful. One shows a motel worker sweeping King’s blood from the balcony. “Once they got the famous photo” of King’s associates pointing in the direction of the assassin, “that was it,” Groskinsky said, referring to the widely circulated Associated Press photo.
