Airbus A330

Airbus A330-200 carrying over 200 passengers lost radar contact off the coast of Brazil late last night. The flight was apparently reporting electrical problems experienced during turbulence on its route between Rio de Janeiro and Charles de Gaulle Paris. Hope is still standing for some reemergence of the aircraft, although it has been several hours since contact was lost. In addition, the Brazilian Air Force has been deployed to the last sight of contact in order to search for any sings of the aircraft.
The last known contact with the plane was at 1:33 a.m. GMT (8:33 p.m. Sunday night ET), the Brazilian Air Force spokesman said. Air France said it could not confirm reports of a short circuit on board the aircraft. The airline said it "shared the emotion and the concern of the families concerned" adding that friends and relatives waiting at the airport would be taken to a special area. A crisis center is being set up at Charles de Gaulle where the plane had been due to land at 11.15 a.m. local time.
Agence France-Presse quoted France's Environment Minister Jean Louis Borloo saying that it was extremely unlikely the plane had been hijacked. "We are very worried," an aviation official told AFP. "The plane disappeared from the screens several hours ago. It could be a transponder problem, but this kind of fault is very rare and the plane did not land when expected."

Susan Boyle Hospitalized

Susan Boyle Hospitalized After Emotional Breakdown Hours after her shocking defeat on Britain’s Got Talent, Susan Boyle was admitted to a private clinic in London Sunday for exhaustion. "Police were called to doctors assessing a woman under the Mental Health Act. The woman was taken voluntarily by ambulance to a clinic," a Boyle spokesperson said in a statement. "At the request of doctors, police accompanied the ambulance."
On Monday, judge Piers Morgan -- who spoke to Boyle, 48, shortly before her hospitalization -- said she is "fine" and has just "gone in for some rest." "She needs to get away from everyone – get away from the show, from the media, the public, and just have a bit of down time to herself," he said on U.K.'s GMTV morning show Monday.
The Scottish signing sensation won over millions with her stirring rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream" from the musical Les Miserables during her audition. She performed the same song on Saturday's finale, but was beat by dance troupe Diversity. (Some reports said Boyle had been angry and screamed "I hate this show" after losing; winners said she had been "gracious" and nice.")Said Morgan: "She had too long to wait between the audition show and the final, and the pressure just builds and builds and builds.

Isaac Haxton

Isaac Haxton has appeared in a number of major final tables over his short career. He finished second in the 2007 PCA for $861k, and sixth in the 2008 EPT London High Rollers Event for $188k. Haxton also has a couple of WSOP final tables under his belt. Greg Raymer, as you well know, won the 2004 World Series of Poker. Raymer is an extremely capable poker player, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him win this event.
Vitaly Lunkin won a bracelet last year ($1,500 NLHE event for $629k), and will certainly be no pushover at the final table. Dani Stern and Lex Veldhuis don't have a great deal of "live" tournament experience, but both are extremely talented players who made their names playing online poker. Alec Torelli has a couple of major final table experiences to draw from, including a second place finish in the $10k Heads-Up event last year at the World Series of Poker.
Noah Schwartz appeared at the final table of the 2008 Borgata Winter Open, where he eventually finished in 4th place for $331k. Schwartz has nearly $800k in total lifetime tournament cashes. The remaining nine players will all be battling it out for the $1.89 million dollar first place prize, as well as the coveted WSOP bracelet.
