LeGarrette Blount

LeGarrette Blount
Oregon tailback LeGarrette Blount slugged Boise State’s Byron Hout with a sucker punch, after Oregon’s 19-8 loss Thursday night. The teams had been talking all night, and it looked like Hout was flapping his jaws after the game, but no matter, you can’t go slugging people. Such a volatile mix is why some coaches want no part of the AFCA request. Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy has talked repeatedly about the combustible mix of emotions before a game, how it only takes one thing to be said and one reaction for a firestorm to hit.
It was the performance of a lifetime. A big-time coming out party for the new guy in charge and his disciplined, workmanlike team. It was a beautiful, proud performance by the Imperial Stormtroopers from the University of Oregon. Every pass was caught. Every quarterback read was perfect. The Ducks' players were in control, focused and sportsmanlike. It was Boise State 19, Oregon 8. Also, it's so long to Ducks running back LeGarrette Blount, who should be kicked off the team today for what he did on Thursday at Bronco Stadium.
Blount punched Boise State's Byron Hout in the face on the field after the game. Then, Blount put a fist to the helmet of Ducks' teammate Garrett Embry, who was trying to play peacemaker. And what we have here is a low moment that can not be greeted with tolerance. Blount left the field struggling with two police officers and two stadium security guards, and with Ducks assistant Scott Frost being towed along. There was a hostile brush with a Boise State fan, too. In the end, there was chaos and volatility all around this team, courtesy of Blount.

Jermaine Gresham

Jermaine Gresham
Jermaine Gresham has done something bad to his knee, and will likely not play against BYU, who Oklahoma will still paste by thirty points. The early read on the knee is vague, but the words “Anterior Cruciate Ligament” do not appear anywhere near this report. If you have a meniscus you’d like to donate to Jermaine Gresham, the University of Oklahoma athletic offices are ready when you are.
Oklahoma’s All-American tight end Jermaine Gresham will miss the BYU game Saturday due to injury. The World is working to confirm the story, and OU beat writer Guerin Emig has written a blog about what affect Gresham’s absence could have on the Sooners and who might replace him at tight end if he’s out.
The big Oklahoma papers have not weighed in as of this morning. (Tulsa World is also mum.) Take message board "gossip" for what it's worth, but the above bit comes from a well-established admin on OU's Rivals site, i.e. not a random, isolated fan whose "sources" could be anyone; it's not substantially contradicted at any point in a very long thread.

Steve Perry of journey

Steve Perry of journey
Steve Perry of journey fame. When Journey Unauthorized will be performing at Paramount Theatre in Aurora next week they will be trying to recreate a legacy that is among the most legendary of all. Performing like Steve Perry is a thought that remains with every artist for the whole life and mostly without being fulfilled. Steve Perry has had a very successful career. He has lead one of the most successful bands of the 70's, 80's, and 90's while continuing a prosperous solo career. Mr. Perry is best known for being the lead singer in the band Journey. He recorded 10 albums with Journey that sold more then 45 million copies. With this Steve also recorded two highly successful solo albums.
Perry, who originally played drums, was involved with several pre-Journey bands including The Nocturns, Dollar Bills, Sullies, Pieces, and Alien Project. The Sullies won the battle of the bands in Calaveris County, playing against 80 other bands. Alien Project was close to signing a record deal when their bass player was killed in an auto accident on July 4th. Steve almost gave up on music for good. Shortly after, though, he was contacted by Herbie Herbert, who said the band Journey listened to a demo tape and liked his singing style. None of Perry's former bands recorded any official material.

With Perry on vocals, Journey's style would change. Their fourth album, Infinity (1978), became their first successful album. They would go on to record nine more albums. Journey with Steve became one of the late 70's early 80's "Stadium Bands".
