A winning streak extends to team football Austin Peay State University Women as a terrible streak ended in the Lady GOVS 1-0 Ohio Valley Conference win against Eastern Illinois on Friday night.
It was the final sixth win of the GOVS Lady, improving to 9-2 overall with a record of 1-0. More importantly, the win ended a stretch of 15 games without a win orphans and vulnerable children, the second coming September 26, 2008 against Jacksonville State.
"It's exciting and rewarding, but we have a long road ahead," said head coach Kelley Guth. "I'm glad we won today and I hope that the nerves of our system. I am proud of the effort. I hope it's a confidence builder for our team and a motivation to come to play hard on Sunday."
