A University of West Georgia student who lost a leg and probably also other parts of the flesh-eating bacteria biting words to her family and shows a loose "fighting spirit," her father said Friday.

Aimee Copeland is fighting for her life in an Augusta hospital after her left leg and part of her stomach removed last week. They instructed the infection after an injury her calf in a zip line accident 10 days.

"I would say that they are more commands than questions at this time," said Andy Copeland "CNN Newsroom" said his daughter the breathing tube was repositioned so that their parents could read their lips.

"I canÂ't say," was what she said and we said: ".. We know, my dear, you have a tube in the throat"
