Cleveland Catholic Diocese

Catholic Diocese learned if their churches were staying open or closing. It is a very sad day for Cleveland Catholics, and even non-Catholics who benefited from the support of local church support programs, such as caring for the homeless, feeding the hungry, helping those with chemical dependencies, etc.
Let me say right up front that I am a lapsed Catholic. I only attend church when I absolutely have to – weddings and funerals. The church ceased to be relevant to me years ago, especially in the 1970s going forward when it seemed clear to me that the Catholic Church completely devalues women and refuses to allow them to have key roles in the Church, such as allowing them to become priests.
But it saddens me to see that the church in which all my grandparent attended, my parents were married in, and I was baptized in, located in Cleveland, is closing, and the church my husband and I were married in, located in Bedford, is also closing. The church that all my husband’s grandparents attended, his parents were married in, and he was baptized in, also located in Cleveland, is closing.

Aprilage

Aprilage is able to help people to stop smoking! How? Infact April age is a small software that use some techniques of psychology to make people fear and then in a way discourage them to smoke. Infact Aprilage is and age progression software. The software is able to predict how a person’s face will look like in some years predefined by the user. And this prediction of the future face is based on factors such as if the person smoke or not, the type of diets he take and so on.
Now you ask me how Aprilage help in making people to stop to smoke? Simple. It show the person how his face will be if he continue to smoke. We all know that smokes from cigarettes contribute a lot to fast aging of the human skin. The softwar simply show the person how his face (how ugly) will look in some years. Its said that the software also shows two version…one of the person if he stop to smoke and the other if he continue to smoke. This software has made many smokers especially teens in USA to stop to smoke. More about it on the software’s site here.
Psychologists have found a way to use this software to treat smokers and make them stop to smoke. Infact when people tend to see their face in the future it sort of making them have an inner fear. Psychologists are infact now using this to create fears of the old age to make smokers to stop to smoke and it seem to be working wonder. Pictures are doing the job words could not do!! Take a look at the demo of the software below.

New Bedford Half Marathon

New Bedford Half Marathon. As of 3 p.m., more than 1,850 people were officially registered for the 13.1-mile race around the city, organized by the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Some runners who have earned a level of celebrity — locally, or even nationally — are certain to attract quite a few fans as they make their way along the course.
Team Hoyt, made up of 68-year-old Dick Hoyt and his son, Rick, whom Dick pushes in a wheelchair, have run the New Bedford Half at least 20 times. The Hoyts were at the YMCA on Saturday, selling and signing copies of their book, "It's Only a Mountain," and DVDs featuring the duo. They have been an inspiration to many. Since 1977, Dick has pushed Rick, born a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy, in hundreds of races, from 5Ks to Iron Man triathlons.
Another inspiring team is Mark and Jay Kruger, SouthCoast residents and former contestants of NBC's weight-loss competition TV show "The Biggest Loser." The brothers got into shape, losing at least 220 lbs. together and have kept up their healthy, active lifestyle since the show wrapped up last April. Today, they will attempt their longest race to date, along with their brother Scott, a New Bedford firefighter.
