Kathleen Robertson

Kathleen Robertson of Austin , Texas was awarded $80,000 by a jury of her peers after breaking her ankle tripping over a toddler who was running inside a furniture store. The store owners were understandably surprised by the verdict, considering the running toddler was her own son.

Terrence Dickson, of Bristol , Pennsylvania, was leaving a house he had just burglarized by way of the garage. Unfortunately for Dickson, the automatic garage door opener malfunctioned and he could not get the garage door to open. Worse, he couldn't re-enter the house because the door connecting the garage to the house locked when Dickson pulled it shut.

Kara Walton, of Claymont , Delaware sued the owner of a night club in a nearby city because she fell from the bathroom window to the floor, knocking out her two front teeth. Even though Ms. Walton was trying to sneak through the ladies room window to avoid paying the $3.50 cover charge, the jury said the night club had to pay her $12,000 ...oh, yeah, plus dental expenses. Go figure.

Ralph Wilson

Ralph Wilson often said he never thought he'd live to see the day he would be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, but at 90 years of age, his time has finally arrived Many people familiar with the history of the NFL, and its merger with the AFL that turned it into the premier pro sports league in the world, think Wilson's induction is long overdue.

Most recently, Wilson was singled out for protesting the NFL's most recent labor agreement because it threatened the revenue sharing provisions so vital for small market franchises like Buffalo. Only a couple years later, owners were in unanimous agreement that Wilson was right to have his original misgivings, and changes have been made and will be made in the future based on Wilson's courage to speak out.

Ralph C. Wilson has long been one of the most influential NFL owners, and the man perhaps most responsible for standing up for the smaller markets, convincing the larger market owners that a well-balanced NFL is the key to the league's overall success. His foresight has more than paid off, and at long last, Ralph C. Wilson Jr. has been recognized for a long and distinguished role as an NFL contributor; a role he will continue.

Genie Francis

Genie Francis (“General Hospital”) and Ted McGinley (“Dancing with the Stars,” “Married with Children,” “The Love Boat”), followed a newspaper columnist as she traveled the country to find the intended recipient of an anonymous note found at the site of an airplane crash. The sequel, in which Francis and McGinley reprise their roles, picks up where that film left off.

“I’m just so thrilled that anyone wants me for anything that I usually just jump at it,” McGinley, 50, told the New York Daily News, half in jest. “The things I don’t do, I either don’t like the character or the things are so horribly written, especially the things that come my way.”

“Because I’ve been knocking around for a long time, people think they know what I do,” said McGinley, who’s been married to actress Gigi Rice for 17 years (the couple has two sons, 15 and 11). “I find as I get older, I do other things better. I’ve become a better actor, and I think I’ve become more interesting.”

Bruce Smith

Bruce Smith, who played in four Super Bowls with the Buffalo Bills, arrived at the podium Saturday with crumpled tissues in his right hand after he was voted into Pro Football’s Hall of Fame.

Hayes, the 1964 Olympic gold medalist in the 100 meters, parlayed his speed into an 11-year football career, playing all but his final season, in 1975, for Dallas. In the statement read by Hester, Hayes gave thanks to many before concluding, “Just thank everyone in the whole world.”

The 45-year-old Smith, who has no championship ring to show for his four Super Bowl appearances in the early 1990s, gained entry into the Hall but tight end Shannon Sharpe, who starred on three Super Bowl-championship teams, did not. Receiver Cris Carter and the former N.F.L. commissioner Paul Tagliabue also failed to receive enough votes.

Rod Woodson

Rod Woodson, he is now, OFFICIALLY, a Hall of Famer From his early days in Pittsburgh he always provided a spark in every game he played in. Whether he was laying the wood on the opposition or taking and interception or punto to the rack, he commanded the attention of fans and opposing players alike.

Career sacks leader Bruce Smith, versatile defensive back Rod Woodson and four others made the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, while former commissioner Paul Tagliabue was denied entry for the third straight year.

Smith previously said making the hall would be a bigger honor if two other Bills, Wilson and wide receiver Andre Reed, also got in the same year. He got half of his wish. The 90-year-old Wilson is the only owner the Bills have had since they were a charter member of the AFL in 1960 Woodson is the career leader in interception returns for touchdowns with 12.

Randall McDaniel

Randall McDaniel's response a moment after he was announced as part of the six-member class of the star-studded 2009 Pro Football Hall of Fame class today in Tampa, Fla "I can't believe it," a stunned McDaniel said from his Twin Cities home. "You never set out thinking that's going to happen. A part of me is wondering if this is real. I'm a linemen, so no one ever tells a lineman the truth.

Joining McDaniel are Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Derrick Thomas, Buffalo Bills defensive end Bruce Smith, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Rod Woodson, Dallas Cowboys receiver Bob Hayes and Bills owner Ralph Wilson "It's a humbling experience. It's a great honor to have," McDaniel said.

The 19th overall selection by the Vikings in the 1988 NFL Draft out of Arizona State, McDaniel went to an NFL record 12 consecutive Pro Bowls. He played for the Vikings until the 1999 season then finished his career with two seasons in Tampa with the Buccaneers It's not the end of the world," Randle said. "I was hoping for Randall. He deserves it.

Churandy Martina

Churandy Martina finished second to Crawford but was disqualified for running out his lane. Crawford explained “[I]f a guy is 10 meters in front of me, I don’t care if he stayed in the middle of his lane, … He was going to beat me anyway. He didn’t impede in anybody’s race.”

It turns out that the disqualification came because the U.S. committee filed a protest against Martina after another U.S. sprinter was disqualified for the same violation. Yet, for Crawford a no harm, no foul sensibility is in play. Perhaps he is downplaying the justice or right thing perspective as a way to highlight that it is the right thing.

American officials studied video of the race and then filed a protest against Martina for the same error. Martina and his Netherland Antilles team have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, arguing that the protest was filed too late under rules set by the International Association of Athletics Federations.
Derrick Thomas, the ferocious pass rusher and cornerstone of the Chiefs’ teams of the 1990s, was elected today to the Pro Football Hall of Fame who played during 1989-99 and died from injuries sustained in a January 2000 auto accident, was elected in his fifth year of eligibility.

Induction will be on Aug. 8. Thomas will join eight others enshrined in Canton, Ohio, as members of the Chiefs — quarterback Len Dawson, defensive tackle Buck Buchanan, linebackers Bobby Bell and Willie Lanier, cornerback Emmitt Thomas, kicker Jan Stenerud as well as owner Lamar Hunt and coach Hank Stram.

He helped define the art of the sack and strip of the quarterback. Thomas had 126 1/2 sacks, which ranked ninth in NFL history at the time of his death. He set the NFL single-game record with seven sacks against Seattle in 1990; and he nearly matched it, recording six sacks against Oakland in 1998, giving him two of the top three sack days in league history.

Adnan Ghalib

Adnan Ghalib and Lutfi, who hasn't been welcomed at casa Spears or anywhere else Britney can be found for some time, couldn't immediately be reached for comment. The order is also in place against attorney Jon Eardley, who early last year was enlisted by Lutfi to work on getting Britney's conservatorship overturned.

The paperwork states that Lutfi sent text messages to Britney's hairdresser Dec. 27, asking her to pass along to the popster that he was not responsible for the situation that led to her control-relinquishing conservatorship, which has also been in place since Feb. 1 after the court found Britney to be "susceptible to undue influence."

A week later, Jamie Spears started getting instant messages from a person with an unfamiliar screen name who "made a number of utterly false and hurtful assertions concerning Mr. Spears and his family, threatening to go public with such purported 'information' unless Mr. Spears spoke with that person."
Kara Goucher continues her success in New York City, getting down in the NYRR Women’s Mile, delivering an impressive 4:33.19 in the New York Road Runners mile, without another runner in striking distance. Runner up, Marina Muncan finished in 4:37.77.

Reigning pole vault Olympic champion Steve Hooker lives up to all expectations, winning in 19-8.50. The Aussie attempted the world record (20-2.5) held by Sergey Bubka before calling it a night. That height however, is good enough to qualify as the best indoor performance to be recorded on U.S. soil and the new Australian indoor national record. Runner up, Derek Miles clears 18-08.25 tonight in New York City.

She cruised to an impressive victory in the elite women’s mile at the 102nd Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday Duluth native finished in 4 minutes, 33.19 seconds — easily outdistancing Serbia’s Marina Muncan in 4:37.77 and Mestawot Tadesse of Ethopia in 4:38.30.

Tommy Johnagin

Tommy Johnagin had just one more career goal in mind: getting his own Comedy Central special Benton native will be featured in “Comedy Central Presents: Tommy Johnagin,” a half-hour special starting at 9 p.m. He will reach that goal Friday night.

“I’m really excited about it. I’m hoping a lot of people see it and like it,” Johnagin said in a phone interview earlier this week while he was driving to Indianapolis — one of many cities included in what he called “a radio blitz” to promote the upcoming show. This will not be his first time appearing on the network.

Johnagin performed a show last summer at the Nostalgia Grill in Benton to benefit the Benton junior football program. “It was nerve-racking,” he said, “but I was glad to be able to perform at my mom’s restaurant and to be able to help the football program

Laura Leigh

The 21-year-old Laura Leigh Siani is one of the 10 original contestants in a new ABC reality TV series, from executive producers Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher that poses the question The beautiful and extremely hot model is one of the contestants on "True Beauty.

The program aims to be more than a beauty contest by using moral dilemmas to assess the inner beauty of its contestants. Gordon Keith

Gordon Keith was attacked by another radio host Friday morning while both men were in Tampa, Fla covering the Super Bowl The incident happened while Keith was on the air as part of the "Dunham and Miller Show" on Sportsradio 1310, "The Ticket.

Earlier in the week on radio row, I had approached another gentleman, Darrel Ankarlo, with whom we had had a radio spat with many years ago and Darrel and I resolved it with a handshake and a smile. I felt that there was hope to do the same with Nasty. Obviously I was mistaken. I offered Nasty nothing but kind words and he attacked me, grabbing my collar before choking me," he added.

Friday morning, though, things escalated when Keith approached Aparicio, microphone in hand, and says he asked if the two sides could "bury the hatchet." Then, apparently, Aparicio grabbed Keith by the neck. The two were separated and police were called.

Tony Hsieh

Tony Hsieh working at his desk He doesn't even have a full cubicle. His workstation, in fact, is indistinguishable from any of the other hundreds of employees in the building -- except maybe for the rainforest decorations hanging from the ceiling and the giant inflatable monkey.

Hsieh became a millionaire in 1998 at 24 when he sold his online advertising company to Microsoft. He sold that company not for the money, he said, but because it had grown so fast and wildly that he barely recognized it any more. In the final weeks, Hsieh said he came to dread just going into work.

Naughton worked for a staffing agency that helped Zappos hire staff when it moved to Southern Nevada almost five years ago. She had never seen the kind of positive feedback from placed workers as what the agency received from those working at Zappos, she said. It wasn't long before she joined them.

Claire McCaskill

Claire McCaskill has delivered a sharp threat to the wallets of corporate executives who took large compensation packages even as their companies accepted government bailout funds , she warned, are going to change "I've been mad for a while," said the Missouri Democrat.

So McCaskill took to the Senate floor on Friday to put an end to the surrealism. In a bill that came to the surprise of reporters, her colleagues, and the White House alike -- there was no coordination with the Obama administration, she said -- the Missouri Democrat called for compensation for employees of bailout recipients to be capped at $400,000 a year.

McCaskill also made news predicting that "a few" Republican senators would support the Employee Free Choice Act, a labor community priority that has engendered heated debate between the two political parties. And she called on leadership in her party to vote on the legislation -- which would allow unions to organize more easily -- "sooner rather than later.

Gurbaksh Chahal

Gurbaksh Chahal is a high school dropout who was teased relentlessly as a child for being different. Now, he's happy to stand out from the crowd as one of the youngest and wealthiest entrepreneurs on the planet.

At just 26 years old, Gurbaksh is living the American dreamJustify Full in a big way. When he was a 16-year-old high school sophomore, he discovered the potential of online advertising and created a company called Click Agents. Two years later, he sold the company for $40 million.

Then, in 2004, Gurbaksh launched BlueLithium, his second Internet enterprise. In 2007, Yahoo! bought the company for $300 million. "I think, at the end of the day, there's a path to do a thing, and it's not only one path," he says. "There's different ways to do it, and I'm fortunate that I was able to find that path very early on in life and take that risk

Katon Dawson

Katon Dawson in the fourth round by two votes. It's anyone's game as of now, but Blackwell's endorsement of Steele is certainly a set-back for Dawson's abrupt rise On the sixth and final ballot Steele bested South Carolina Republican party Chairman Katon Dawson 91 to 77.

In picking Steele, who had previously served as the chairman of the Maryland Republican Party, the state's lieutenant governor, and the GOP nominee in the Maryland Senate race in 2006, the party regulars seem to be acknowledging the need for new -- and different -- faces at the top of its food chain.

After five ballots, the race came down to Steele and Dawson. Republican party strategists in attendance at the meeting openly fretted about the possibility of electing Dawson, who had acknowledged his membership in a whites-only club, and the signal it would send to a country that had just elected Barack Obama as the nation's first black president.

Michael Steele

Michael Steele triumphed over four opponents in the race for Republican National Committee chairman Friday, giving the party its first black chairman as well as a forceful communicator at a time of political weakness It is with a great deal of humility and a sense of service that I accept and appreciate and thank all of you for the opportunity to serve.

The election of an outsider, however, was not the only respect in which the race was unconventional. Usually a low-profile, inside-the-Beltway affair, the chairman’s race took on an outsized importance for the GOP this year after the party lost the White House and suffered heavy defeats on the congressional level last November.

In the last few weeks the election took a divisive turn as candidates began leveling harsh, below-the radar attacks on each others’ ethics and political track records. Dawson’s past membership in an all-white country club came under assault, as did Steele’s performance as chairman of GOPAC, Blackwell’s experience as secretary of state and Anuzis’s mixed track record winning elections in Michigan.

Rashad McCants

Rashad McCants might not be getting any love from head coach Kevin McHale, but he's still in the starting lineup of his celebrity girlfriend Khloe Kardashian, a modestly visible Hollywood celeb, is fuming that a gossip website is declaring her relationship with McCants is over.

She wrote Tuesday on her official website, khloekardashian.celebuzz.com: "I would just like to address the rumors that have begun circulating regarding my relationship with Rashad. According to MediaTakeOut.com, Rashad and I have 'called it quits.' . . . So I just wanted to set the record straight and let everyone know that Rashad and I are still VERY much together. In fact, I'm with him in Minnesota as we speak."

Relationships are hard enough as is when you live in the same city, and he's in a different city everyday for games," Kardashian wrote of her ex on her Celebuzz blog. "Our time together was just so limited because of both of our schedules that we decided it is best not to be in a committed relationship. "The last seven months have been great and we will definitely remain close friends.

Kirk Cameron

Kirk Cameron, best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the 1980s sitcom “Growing Pains,” plays Capt. Holt - a headstrong firefighter who realizes that his selfish nature is causing a canyon of anger and mistrust to grow between himself and his wife.

Cameron: Well, you know… yes it hit home with me, because I’m a guy who’s been married to an incredible lady for seventeen years and no matter how wonderful the person is that you’ve married, marriage is always going to be a struggle because she’s married to me.

Of course, a lot of people bail because they just don’t know how to make it work and that’s what fireproof is all about. It ultimately talks about never leaving your partner behind and in order to be successful at that you’ve got to learn what unconditional love is, because that’s the only kind of love that’ll get through the hard times.

Suzanne Somers

Suzanne Somers showed "Oprah" viewers her intricate daily routine on Thursday's show, the topic of which was hormone replacement. For years Somers has loudly spoken and written about bioidentical hormones and how she has benefited from taking them.

Then there are her pills, all 60 of them. 40 in the morning with a smoothie and the rest at night. She admits the pill quantity is extreme, saying, I know I look like some kind of fanatic Thanks to her routine, and exercise, Somers claims to have beaten what she calls "the Seven Dwarfs of Menopause": Itchy, Bitchy, Sleepy, Sweaty, Bloated, Forgetful and All Dried Up.

With a baby boomer population aging, and more than two million women reaching menopause every year, training in hormone replacement advances, and possible breakthoroughs will be focal points at the 17th World Congress on Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine. The conference will include several sessions and workshops focusing on hormone replacement therapy.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is expecting her third child with former football star, Tim Hasselbeck The outspoken Republican made the announcement on the show Thursday morning We were thoroughly happy with the surprise of it," Hasselbeck said. "I didn't even know for two months.

Hasselbeck famously got into a heated fight with Rosie O'Donnell in May 2007 when she was pregnant. O'Donnell left the show soon after Hasselbeck and her husband already have two children, 3-year-old daughter Grace and 1-year-old son Taylor The baby is due in August.

Speaking of Elisabeth, big ups to my coworker Kat for keeping a straight face when Lo Bosworth told her Elisabeth was her media inspiration. No, really Patrick Swayze is denying reports that he's stopped cancer treatment. Sigh. I just caught Dirty Dancing last weekend on tv. God, I heart that movie. I know it defies all logic, but I do.

Rod Blagojevich

Illinois senators stripped Gov. Rod Blagojevich of power Thursday in the final act of a political drama that handed the reins of state government to his estranged lieutenant governor, Pat Quinn, and likely will end Blagojevich's career in politics.

The governor's impeachment was triggered by his arrest last month on a variety of federal corruption charges. The criminal complaint against him included a long list of shocking quotes related to Blagojevich's apparent attempt to auction off President Obama's former U.S. Senate seat and pressure people for campaign donations.

"For months, the state had been crippled by a crisis of leadership," Obama said. "Now that cloud has lifted. I wish Governor Quinn the best and pledge my full cooperation as he undertakes his new responsibilities The former governor had refused to take part in the state Senate trial, but he surprised everyone by asking to make a closing statement Thursday, in which he insisted that he should not be tossed out of office on what he called incomplete evidence.

Bennie Witt

Bennie Witt is a man who managed to faked his drowning death nearly 20 years ago off a Florida beach. Whew! This thing was found out by a North Carolina police who stopped him for a traffic violation. He told the police that he faked his drowning death in Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1989.

Bennie Harden Wint, now 49, was found alive and well in North Carolina during a routine traffic stop Saturday. He's got a common-law wife and a teenage son named William James Sweet -- the same name that Wint had been using for nearly two decades.

Wint finally came clean after being stopped by police because the light over his license plate was out. When he was unable to produce anything to identify himself as Sweet, Wint was arrested for not having a license. At some point while the police were interviewing him, he confessed that his real name was Bennie Harden Wint. Weaverville Police Sgt. Stacy Wyatt, who interviewed Wint, said the entire story was "kind of like a movie."

Patrick Quinn

Pat Quinn has been sworn in as Illinois' new governor. Quinn took the oath of office moments after the state Senate voted to remove Rod Blagojevich, who was ousted on charges of abuse of power. In fact, Quinn has said the men have not spoken in more than a year, and Blagojevich said last year that Quinn was not even part of his administration.

"His priorities include advocating for taxpayers and consumers, protecting the environment, promoting decent health care, and helping members of the armed services and their families," his official Web site said.He served a term as Illinois state treasurer from 1991 to 1995, leaving office after an unsuccessful campaign for secretary of state in 1994.

Quinn is a 60-year-old former state treasurer and tax attorney. He is best known for his efforts to cut big government and protect the little guy. One of the most pressing issues for him is the state's deficit of more than $3 billion. His political career began in Chicago in 1982 when Quinn, then a practicing tax attorney, was elected Commissioner of the Cook County Board of (Property) Tax Appeals.

Stimulus Bill

President Obama's economic stimulus bill includes tens of millions of dollars that critics claim will do little or nothing to generate or preserve jobs, including money to clear away obstacles for fish, monitor earthquakes and volcanoes, write a report to Congress and reward academic achievement.

The president hopes to be able to sign a stimulus bill into law by mid-February as grim economic headlines continue to worry economists. Today's bad news included Ford Motor Co.'s announcement that it lost $5.9 billion in the fourth quarter of last year, and news that the number of people receiving jobless benefits hit 4.78 million, the highest on records dating back to 1967.

The stimulus bill is certain to be altered in the Senate where Republicans will renew their efforts to remove what they have termed political "pork," or spending they claim is not intended to stimulate the creation or the preservation of jobs.

Kelly Clarkson

star Kelly Clarkson has made a powerful return to the charts. Billboard reports that her "My Life Would Suck Without You" will make history Thursday, bolting from No. 97 on the U.S. singles chart to the pole position. The song, according to the story, sold 280,000 digital downloads in its first week of release. Billboard reports that "My Life Would Suck Without You" is her seventh top-10 hit since 2005.

Of course, the Clarkson campaign has been designed from Day 1 to snare this headline. Beginning in late December, there's been a steady stream of Clarkson-related trinkets garnering headlines in the pop music world -- video message! cover art! lyrics! single! -- and today, the video will make its debut.

These sorts of records are set routinely in the digital music age, with singles given a slow ramp-up before they're made available for purchase at digital outlets. Clarkson breaks the one set recently by Britney Spears with "Womanizer," which shot all the way to No. 1 from No. 96.

Lucy Hale

Lucy Hale, the star of The CW’s “Privileged,” revealed this week that she too has auditioned for a role in the upcoming sequel to Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight,” the highly anticipated “New Moon,” to be directed by Chris Weitz and going into production soon.

Hale told Twist: “Well, I did read [for the role of Jane]. We had some talks about it. But I think they just offered it to Dakota Fanning – the role I was interested in – which is great. I’m a huge fan of her! So, I think she’ll probably take that. And I mean, as of right now, I’m not sure if it’s going to work out. But I’m definitely still going to see it

Twist also asked Hale if she would take any part in “New Moon” – not just the role of Jane – to which the young actress said: “I’d take any role! Leah Clearwater, but I think there’s already talks with somebody else. I think they’ve already offered it to someone. I mean, we’ll see. If not, it’s all good.”

Ian Thorpe

Ian Thorpe has a Brazilian housemate named Daniel, and I am a woman of my word Here are the highlights from the Daily Telegraph's report on Thorpie's 's home life Ian Thorpe's housemate is a Brazilian swimmer named Daniel Mendes Daniel is described as "more slightly built" than Ian.

The two bachelors spent Christmas with Thorpie's family before flying to Brazil to spend a month with Daniel's people. Because when you are truly good friends with someone, their family becomes your family. It is right and natural to spend the festive season with them.

They were recently photographed indulging in totally gay (as in happy!) activities like "sunning themselves and playing in the surf" at Fernando de Noronha And someone from Foxtel confirmed that Daniel was Ian Thorpe's escort to events like the 2007 Australia's Next Top Model finale and the 2008 MTV Awards.

Andrew Warren

Andrew Warren has been accused by the women, who are both Algerian nationals, of drugging and raping them on separate occasions while he was still working for the CIA in the Algerian capital, according to the court document, which was filed in the fall of 2008.

Both the State and Justice Departments are involved in the investigation, according to a source with knowledge of the probe. The investigation includes Warren's time in Algeria and his previous post in Cairo, Egypt, as well as other locations to which he traveled, the source said.

The first alleged rape happened in September 2007, around the same time Warren took the post in Algeria, according to the court document. The woman came forward in June 2008. The second woman came forward three months later, saying she had been sexually assaulted in February 2008.

Anuradha Bali

Anuradha Bali alias Fiza who was married to Chandramohan alias Mohammad Chand, the ex-Deputy Chief Minister of Haryana tried to commit suicide swallowing more than 50 sleeping pills.

She was rushed to a private nursing home soon after the incident. According to the reports, her condition is stable and out of danger, though, she is not in condition to talk to police officials regarding the matter.

The missing leader was traced to New Delhi's Greater Kailash later in the day and told police he walked out of his Chandigarh home after a tiff. "I am not a kid who can be kidnapped," he told them, adding that he was on his way to Hardwar.

Megan Corkrey

Megan Corkrey. Man, I looove this girl’s voice. Her look and sound may be a little too distinctive to win “American Idol” (this show encourages middle-of-the-road vanilla) but I will vote for her. I agree with Simon on this one: She’s one of the only people this season I know I will remember.

She’s lovely. Her voice? Not so much. But she got through anyway, I think on the sunshine of her “aura,” a term that came up a lot, along with Randy’s “jumping off.” As in, “you’ve got a cool vibe jumping off there.”

I remember before season eight started, new judge Kara was talking up the men of this season. Well, tonight the women shined more, even though David Osmond – yes, of those Osmonds – was a handsome, personable shining star.

andy roddick

Roddick has only ever beaten Federer in two of their previous 17 meetings -- the most recent success coming in Miami last year -- and he never looked like repeating that in a match played with the Rod Laver Arena roof open following a drop in temperature which brought to an end the extreme heat policy procedures.

Federer found the net a couple of times in the next game to help Roddick hold his serve but it did not stop Federer taking the first set. The Swiss, chasing a record-equalling 14th grand slam title, had a few nervy moments as he held off two break points before a wide reply by Roddick handed him the game and the set.

It was almost an exact repeat in the third set, although Federer did have the chance to break clear in the fifth game. Roddick was given a code violation for swearing but he produced an audacious sliced backhand to help him on his way to holding his serve.

Billy Powell

Billy Powell, the original keyboard player with the southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, died early Wednesday at his Orange Park home.Orange Park police said Powell called 911 just before 1 a.m. complaining of difficulty breathing.
In 1977, Van Zant, along with guitarist Steve Gaines, his sister, and backup vocalist Cassie Gaines and assistant road manager Dean Kilpatrick were killed when the band's chartered plane crashed in Mississippi. The pilot and co-pilot also died.
Powell played in a Christian band for several years, then rejoined Skynyrd for a tribute tour in 1987 and has toured with the band ever since. He and guitarist Gary Rossington were the only two original band members who continued to record and tour with the band.

Charles Whitmore

Charles Whitmore was funding Faraday's work was shocking enough, but to see a young version of Whitmore on the island (still a jerk) was one of the headslapping moments of the episode. (Another: that Desmond and Penny's baby is named Charlie).

"And," Lindelof revealed, "he does not wear any mascara, no eyeliner, nothing. He is completely 100 percent sans makeup. That's the God's honest truth. You know, we had the same note that you did, but just watch him on a smaller screen I guess."

In addition to her mother, survivors include a sister, Karena Kavanagh of Attica; grandmother, Margaret Romano of Attica; her grandfather, Earnest Hargis of Rochester; several aunts, uncles, cousins; special friends, Mike Murphy of Batavia and Justine Mogavero of Batavia; and godmother, Rosalie Simetl of Brooklyn.

Ricardo Montalban

Fantasy Island superstar Ricardo Montalban died today at 6:30 a.m.He passed gone on his home, fondly referred to as "Casa Montalban" by his family unit, in Los Angeles. Montalban lived in harsh soreness for a lot of years, due to a spinal grievance origin from a decrease from a pony in 1951 though filming the Western The large Missouri. even with operation, the suffering stayed through him and principally curbed him to a wheelchair in the later years of his life.

Emmy winner Montalban, 88, who retained his Mexican nationality during his just about 60 years of glory, passed calmly away from "natural causes" with his daughter and nurses with him, Gilbert Smith, Montalban's son in bylaw, told Radaronline.com. His wife of 63 years, Georgiana Young, preceded him in decease last year. Montalban lived in brutal hurting for many years, due to a spinal damage root from a plunge from a pony in 1951 even as filming the Western the large Missouri.
