He is considered one of the most influential writers, politics, literature and popular culture, where English is spoken or read. He also ranks among the leading essayists and interview the participants and considered one of the world's leading public intellectuals.

But do not let the word scare intellectual: it pissed off some of his own opinion, but it is unlikely that you'll get bored. He is an engaging, drunken, bare knuckles writer, who is now the biggest fight stage IV cancer, and if he likes to point out, there is no section of Sun But it is still lying in writing to audiences for generations and national borders.

This broad appeal has never been brighter than the early one night last summer, when Hitchens was interviewed by a friend of Salman Rushdie in an elite New York audience, and later appeared on the Comedy Central "The Daily Show Jon Stewart" - and the performances support the new memoir, Hitch 22nd

When Stewart asked how does Hitchens, the writer said: "It's a little early to tell."

The public assumed that Hitchens was a joke in his well-known penchant for stay up late and drink it. In fact, unbeknownst to anyone who has checked himself in the hospital earlier that day after I was told that he might have suffered metastatic esophageal cancer.

"I am a member of an elite cancer. I'd rather look at people when there is less risk of cancer" Hitchens said: "60 Minutes" correspondent Steve Kroft.
