Johnny Red Kerr

Johnny “Red” Kerr was honored for his career achievements and 35 years of service to the Bulls organization during a halftime ceremony at the Bulls’ game against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, February 10 at the United Center. Kerr, a native of Chicago, has been a part of the Bulls organization in various capacities for 35 of the franchise’s 43 seasons, most notably as a team broadcaster for more than 30 years.

“Johnny Kerr is a Chicago Bulls icon,” said Bulls Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. “It is only fitting that we salute Johnny and thank him for the many contributions he has made to the Chicago Bulls organization over these past decades. We are pleased to have the opportunity along with 20,000 of our fans to tell Johnny how much we love and appreciate him.”

As part of the halftime salute, Bulls television play-by-play announcer Neil Funk will emcee the ceremony which will include a video tribute, speeches and appearances from notables such as Jerry Reinsdorf, Jerry Colangelo, Dolph Schayes, Al Bianchi, Jim Durham, Ron Guenther as well as David Stern who will appear via a taped message. The Bulls’ John Paxson and Bob Love will also be in attendance. Others expected to attend include former Bulls’ Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen.

Michelle Obama Vogue

michelle obama vogue would be appearing on the March Vogue cover -- only the second first lady to do so (Hillary Clinton was the first, in December 1998). Still, although we could tell you she'd be wearing a Jason Wu dress, we couldn't exactly show you the cover -- because of a little technicality called an embargo which has nothing to do with the airlifting of canned hams or warships in our harbor and everything to do with playing by the rules.

From the day after Barack Obama was elected president, Women's Wear was speculating that wife Michelle might grace the cover of America's fashion bible, Vogue. Now it's official. Michelle Obama will smile out from newsstands all over the country this March, in a magenta sheath by Jason Wu who also designed the first lady's white, one-shouldered inaugural gown.

Photographer of the Queen and Suri Cruise Annie Liebowitz shot the cover and eight-page inside spread, which accompanies an article in which Obama speaks about motherhood - and of course, her personal style. Every first lady since Lou Hoover (except for Bess Truman) has been photographed by the magazine, but Mrs Obama will only be the second to be on the cover. The first? Her husband's secretary of state, Hillary Clinton.

Chuck Wicks and girlfriend Julianne Hough, along with Jewel and husband (and rodeo champ) Ty Murray, are headed to the new season of Dancing With the Stars. And those crafty folks at ABC decided to announce the new contestants little by little throughout their Sunday night (Feb. 8) programming in an effort to steal a bit of the thunder CBS was enjoying with its telecast of the Grammy Awards.

Chuck’s dance partner in the competition will be his girlfriend and fellow country artist Julianne Hough, a two-time Dancing With the Stars champion. Country will also be represented by singer/songwriter Jewel and her husband, rodeo star Ty Murray. Rounding out this season’s celebrity contestants are rapper Lil’ Kim; Jackass star Steve-O; Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell; actor Gilles Marini; actress Denise Richards; Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak; pop singer Belinda Carlisle; actor/comedian David Alan Grier; NFL football great Lawrence Taylor and Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson.

Country singer Chuck Wicks should have a major advantage in the new season of "Dancing With the Stars." He will be paired with two-time champ Julianne Hough, who is also his girlfriend. They should be able to work in a lot of extra practice time. The new season of ABC's most-popular series begins March 9. "Dancing" is also one of Central Florida's favorite shows. Announcement of other dance pairings will be made Thursday, ABC said, because not all the celebrities will meet their professional partners before then.
