Steve Perry of journey

Steve Perry of journey
Steve Perry of journey fame. When Journey Unauthorized will be performing at Paramount Theatre in Aurora next week they will be trying to recreate a legacy that is among the most legendary of all. Performing like Steve Perry is a thought that remains with every artist for the whole life and mostly without being fulfilled. Steve Perry has had a very successful career. He has lead one of the most successful bands of the 70's, 80's, and 90's while continuing a prosperous solo career. Mr. Perry is best known for being the lead singer in the band Journey. He recorded 10 albums with Journey that sold more then 45 million copies. With this Steve also recorded two highly successful solo albums.
Perry, who originally played drums, was involved with several pre-Journey bands including The Nocturns, Dollar Bills, Sullies, Pieces, and Alien Project. The Sullies won the battle of the bands in Calaveris County, playing against 80 other bands. Alien Project was close to signing a record deal when their bass player was killed in an auto accident on July 4th. Steve almost gave up on music for good. Shortly after, though, he was contacted by Herbie Herbert, who said the band Journey listened to a demo tape and liked his singing style. None of Perry's former bands recorded any official material.

With Perry on vocals, Journey's style would change. Their fourth album, Infinity (1978), became their first successful album. They would go on to record nine more albums. Journey with Steve became one of the late 70's early 80's "Stadium Bands".

Arnel Pineda

Lead Singer Arnel Pineda He is a Filipino, an ordinary guy whose got a good heart and an incredible voice. Now he is a star. He replaced Steve Perry as the lead vocalist of "Journey". His voice really sounds like Steve Perry. I am yet to see him live as he performs. Kudos Arnel Pineda.

Just in case you’re wondering, that was not Steve Perry singing “Don’t Stop Believin’ ” with Journey during the Super Bowl pregame, nor was it a Journey tribute band. It was, indeed, Journey, with new singer Arnel Pineda, who joined the band in 2007 after being spotted by them singing Journey songs on YouTube.

“I was not excited about [the possibility of] the Soprano family being whacked to ‘Don’t Stop Believin’,” Perry told MTV News after the show had aired. “I told them, ‘Unless I know what happens — and I will swear to secrecy — I can’t in good conscience feel good about its use.’” The show’s producers made Perry promise to keep it under his lid, which he did, and then they spilled the beans on how the song was used and how the show ends, after which Perry signed off.
