Donut Day

In honor of National Donut Day, both Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme are giving away one free donut. Dunkin Donuts requires a purchase of a drink to get your free donut. There are lots of locations in the Dallas area. In honor of National Doughnut Day - oops, we mean National Donut Day - the chain said that participating stores tomorrow "will give every customer a free donut of their choice, with the purchase of any beverage, limit one per customer."
Dunkin' also plans to announce the winner of its "Create Dunkin's Next Donut" contest. One entry that caused much hubbub at a contest Web page was the sm'OREO. Some ingredients? Marshmallow filling, OREO Cookie Pieces, Graham Cracker Crunch, and chocolate frosting.
For some, Christmas is the most special of days. For others, birthdays take the cake. But for a rare breed, no holiday is more worthy of veneration than tomorrow's National Doughnut Day, which Dunkin' Donut plans to celebrate with a doughnut deal. When it comes to adulating the sinker, few can match Dunkin', the Canton-based chain of coffee-and-baked-goods stores.

National Doughnut Day

Happy National Doughnut Day! In honor of the big day, the dueling doughnut heavyweights are giving away morning treats. At Dunkin’ Donuts, any drink purchase scores a bonus doughnut. Krispy Kreme is doing a straight giveaway—one freebie per customer. If you'd rather part with a buck or two for a superior doughnut, check out The Serious Eats Honor Roll for top picks around the country.
What's the one holiday that can bridge all divides, bring together all Americans regardless of race, color, gender, age or favorite college football team? National Doughnut Day. Celebrated the first Friday of June -- that's TOMORROW -- it's a great excuse to treat friends, co-workers and most importantly yourself to a few dozen doughnuts.
The perfect marriage of starch, sugar and fat, the doughnut is the quintessential working man's snack. Perhaps that's why nearly every doughnut shop in the city -- Magee's, Spudnuts, Winchell's, Krispy Kreme, Yum Yum or any of the thousands of strip mall vendors -- offers a passable version. As long as they're not horribly stale, I'm happy to eat these miraculous deep-fried concoctions anytime, anywhere. But as a self-proclaimed doughnut aficionado I do have a few favorites.
