Serena earned her third-career singles championship at the All-England Club and ended her sister's run of two straight Wimbledon titles, posting a 7-6, 6-2 win over Venus in the final. About 3 1-2 hours after their match ended, Serena and Venus returned to Centre Court to win a second consecutive Wimbledon doubles championship. They beat Australians Samantha Stosur and Rennae Stubbs 7-6 (4), 6-4 to collect their ninth women's doubles Grand Slam title, fourth at Wimbledon.
