Joe Namath

brash quarterback named Joe Namath predicted victory and the press carried the story worldwide The Jets led by Mr. Namath did exactly as he had said they would; they won the real first Super Bowl With a solid defense, Namath's golden arm, and the running talents of Matt Snell and Emerson Boozer a 16-7 victory was a fait accompli and the Jets easily road into sports history.

But fans are called fans for a reason. The word "fan" does come from the word fanatic after all. Just like the character of Joe Hardy in the play "Damn Yankees" who was willing to make a deal with the devil so his beloved Washington Senators would win a World Series, Jets fans are desperately hoping that "some year soon" their team will be on the field during Super Bowl play.

So Joe Willie Namath, maybe a little sparkle left over from your heyday, a little magic, and a small miracle might rub off on the team you lead to victory so long ago if you show up at some of their games next year. No one is asking you to make any predictions, just come around. Where have you been? Come and visit and bring the panti-hose for old times sake and good luck.

Carlos Boozer

Carlos Boozer has been cleared to increase strengthening exercises for his surgically repaired left knee. He said he expects to start running again possibly by the end of next week. Boozer has missed 36 games since he was injured Nov. 19 against Milwaukee but is hopeful he can resume playing sometime around the All-Star break."

The above taken from yahoo.com. They are in a fight to make the playoffs, fighting with the Suns for the 8th and final playoff spot. 29 games remaining and if he plays at the level he did when he got injured he will have earned $95.56. That's a 34% short. He won't play at that same level, especially with Millsap playing so well this year. Could end up being a lot better than a 34% short.

I know I may take some heat for this short and that's ok. I know NBA is the 2nd longest earnings day away. Just my opinion he is a pretty good short no matter what Only projected to be back around the All Star game.

Tuukka Rask

Tuukka Rask stopped 35 shots for his first NHL shutout in his fourth start and Marc Savard scored to lead Boston past New York Rask was playing in his first NHL game since December 2007 because an injury to Manny Fernandez had forced Tim Thomas to play the previous eight games.

Markov got credit for his eighth goal at 19:37 when Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick knocked the puck over the goal line as he tried to cover up on a goalmouth scramble Tomas Plekanec and Andrei Kostitsyn also scored for Montreal, which ended a season-high four-game losing streak.

At Denver, Teemu Selanne scored the tiebreaking goal in the third period for Anaheim, which sent struggling Colorado to a fourth straight loss George Parros, Ryan Getzlaf and Scott Niedermayer also scored for Anaheim.
John-Michael Liles, Milan Hejduk and Ian Laperriere had goals for Colorado.
