The legendary gospel performer Dana Key Christian music pioneers DeGarmo & Key died Sunday, 06/06/2010 by a broken blood clot at age 56. While Key was originally from Memphis, Tennessee (as Eddie DeGarmo), Dana Key, spending time in Nashville, until his retirement, when he served as head of the Ardent Records, hosted a TV show with the new Christian bands and served as pastor a small church in Cordova, Tennessee.
I had the opportunity to interview Eddie DeGarmo and Dana Key March 1988, when they were filming in Nashville, his first live concert video, Rock Solid: Absolutely Live. That interview was my first "break" as a writer in the gospel music industry as well as the first real interview, and DeGarmo and Key were the stars in the Christian music industry at this time. But it soon became so interested in what the two men had to say, I forgot too nervous, and the hours passed quickly.
When I asked why he decided to do a live concert video na zoveel successful albums, Dana Key said: "Our objective at the beginning, 10 years ago, we wanted to reach children with the message of Jesus Christ through music rock 'n roll, and we felt that a video like this will go many places we can go.
