Bryce Harper
Bryce Harper's first year in professional baseball had its share of highs and lows - sometimes in the same game. The Washington Nationals are expected to field some time on Monday, a kiss to the opposing pitcher, after hitting a homerun in the 3-2 loss to Greensboro Hagerstown 'A' Class A South Atlantic League.
The game is scoreless in the sixth inning, Harper hit a home run to right center field and took a few seconds of his handiwork in the batters' box to admire his bat before throwing away, and slowly toward the front. Greensboro pitcher Zach Neal does not seem to care about Harper and Harper's another one let me know how he felt when he was around the bases according to the media. Harper responded to mop up in the direction of Neal when he got home plate.
Harper's next trip to the plate, Hagerstown behind 3-2 in the eighth, relief pitcher Grant Dayton Greensboro Harper backed off the plate from the first pitch high and inside. Harper connected with the second, but a long high ball was caught on the fence. "I just missed a couple of inches, " said Harper, the Hagerstown Herald-Mail. "It was a corner, and I just missed it. ... I thought I understood, and is closely linked to the game and gives us a chance to go to extra innings."
