Philadelphia newspaper

Philadelphia newspaper reporters rip Eagles coach Andy Reid and owner Jeffrey Lurie, as writers for the Philadelphia Daily News and Philadelphia Inquirer did in Friday's editions? Will Vick express enough remorse to satisfy his critics? Will Tony Dungy stick his neck out for Vick? Find out by following along below or following me on Twitter.
A Philadelphia newspaper called The Pennsylvania Mercury contained this item from a correspondent in Shelburne in its issue of September 19th 1789: Michael Vick will make his debut appearance with the Philadelphia Eagles Friday at a press conference at team headquarters, and if you can't watch it live at 11 AM ET, you can follow along with live Twitter updates.
The Town of Shelburne is hotter than McNutt's Island in the summer. The island's summer is foggier and cooler, moderated by the Atlantic. Shelburne is deep inside the inner harbour; the island is on the outer edge of the outer harbour. I would bet that if The Pennsylvania Mercury's correspondent had been reporting from McNutt's instead of from Shelburne he (or she) would have given a high temperature of somewhere in the seventies that day.

Philadelphia Inquirer

Philadelphia Inquirer
Philadelphia Inquirer Sports Columnist Phil Sheridan writes today Michael Vick is “not worth the trouble for Eagles”. Philadelphia Inquirer’s Sheridan blasts Vick as The Philadelphia Daily News “greets” Vick with a Friday cover that reads “Hide Your Dogs”. Sheridan says Vick was a “polarizing figure”. But today, Sheridan feels Vick isn’t worth the gamble.
“The downside here just isn’t worth the potential upside. It just isn’t.” Andy Reid thinks PETA has his support. “This is America. We do make mistakes, and in this situation he has a chance to prove he is doing the right things and I think the fans will be excited for him as long as he continues to do them. He’s been proactive, speaking all over the country and working with the Humane Society.”
Cue PETA statement from Dan Shannon to AP: “PETA and millions of decent football fans around the world are disappointed that the Eagles decided to sign a guy who hung dogs from trees. “He electrocuted them with jumper cables and held them under water. You have to wonder what sort of message this sends to young fans who care about animals and don’t want them to be harmed.”
