Big Bird, Sesame Street and Google? Why not? Yellow lining on their feet today to mark the site Home birth is 40th show. Today, visitors to the site, lately one of the most rare videos on the Internet, you may see the world's most famous pair of legs (and no, we do not talk about Heidi Klum's, which was secured only $ 2.2 million.) The reason? Today marks the 40th anniversary of children’s TV show Sesame Street. To celebrate, Sesame Street’s website has been running a contest, where visitors can vote for their favorite episodes from the the show’s impressive four-decade public television run. We here at the Monitor have a soft spot for our furry friends from the Children’s Television Workshop. Our recent “Famous Grouches” gallery was headlined by none other than trash can-dwelling Oscar himself (and good friend Telly).
And we were there in May, when First Lady Michelle Obama on the United Nations know that he was happy to be there, but only on Sesame Street and more attractive. Sesame Street celebrates its 40th 10th Anniversary November, and a popular education program hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama, his birthday. During the show, Elmo and Michelle appear to encourage children to healthy foods to your diet.
The iconic Google Doodle is honoring Sesame Street today by placing Big Bird on its homepage. Sesame Street, which began in 1969 on November 10th, is the longest running childrens program in U.S history. Sesame Street isn’t just popular in the United States, however. Big Bird, Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and others are seen in over 120 countries, giving them their biggest audience to date. Sesame Street was created by the late Jim Henson. For those that can’t get enough of the furry Muppets, a special 40th anniversary DVD of Sesame Street will be available in stores in late November.

Even your feet, you probably know the Big Bird. Big Bird's feet at Google today celebrates 40 years of Sesame Street. Feel old yet? The segment is part of a PBS documentary scheduled air in April, including the stories of four families have suffered losses.
The cold reality of the war on terror has struck Sesame Street, where the sweetest of the sweet muppets, Elmo, is coping with the loss of his heroic uncle, Jack. Please hand us a tissue. The upcoming Sesame Workshop video, featuring Elmo's war-vet dad, Louie, is aimed specifically at U.S. military families coming to grips with the loss of a parent during the ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sesame Street consulted with Defense Department on the script, according to officials, and avoids any explicit mention of combat or the war for the sake of healing children.
In one scene, Elmo is on a family picnic with his Aunt Jill and Uncle Jessie and forget about the loss of his uncle, asks "Where's Uncle Jack?" Elmo's mom reminds him that Jack died, causing any apparent stress to Jesse. Elmo's Dad, Louie, then meet with Jessie established to encourage her to talk about their feelings.
