Brazil Map

Brazil Map has been produced by the Network Youth Program, whose aim is to promote social participation amongst young people from low income families through the use of new communication technologies. So far Wikimapa is available in five communities in Rio de Janeiro, Complexo do Alemmo, Complexo da Mare, City of God, and Santa Marta-Pavao Pavaozinho.

Using Wikimapa young people can add and find information about different points of interest, e.g. schools, hospitals, churches, clubs, bars, etc. Users can add comments and photographs about locations and add comments to locations already mapped.
