Fox Cities Marathon

Fox Cities Marathon
Motorists are reminded that due to today's Community First Fox Cities Marathon and Kimberly-Clark Half Marathon there will be traffic delays, especially between 6:45 and 11:30 a.m. The starting line is at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley campus, 1478 Midway Road, Menasha. Full marathon participants expecting to finish in six-plus hours begin at 6 a.m. The half marathon starts at 7 a.m., the 13.1-mile Appleton, the company's, walk at 7:05 a.m., wheelchairs/hand-crank participants at 7:55 a.m. and full marathon and Orthopedic & Sports Institute of the Fox Valley Relay Marathon participants at 8 a.m.
After starting in Menasha, the full marathon course runs through Appleton, Kimberly, Little Chute, Kaukauna, Combined Locks, Darboy, Appleton again, Menasha and Neenah. It ends at Neenah's Riverside Park. The half marathon, after beginning in Menasha, runs through Appleton, Menasha and Neenah.
Appleton streets affected by the marathon and half marathon during the morning hours include Oneida Street between Midway Road and State 441, Midway between Telulah Avenue and Oneida Street, Plank Road, Lake Park Road, and Telulah between Newberry Street and Midway. Between 6:45 and 8:30 a.m., people using Oneida Street and wishing to proceed south of Midway Road will be rerouted onto State 441. Officers will be in the area of Oneida and 441 providing assistance for the rerouted traffic.
