NFL Scores Week 2

NFL Scores Week 2
The NFL scores for week 2 of the 2009 season had a couple of surprises as the Jets knocked off the Patriots and the Texans handed the Titans their second loss. Also, the Steelers were locked in a battle with the Bears and ended up losing when the Bears drove down and kicked the game winning field goal with 15 seconds left.
In New York the Jets proved that they could back up all the trash talking they did during the week leading up to the game against the Patriots. It looks like Rex Ryan has quickly instilled a strong defensive mindset in the Jets as they shut down Tom Brady and the Patriots in the second half, holding them scoreless. The Jets also look like they have a quarterback that will keep on getting better with experience, as Mark Sanchez gave them just enough offense to win. He led the Jets on an opening second half drive for a touchdown to give his team the lead 10 – 9. The Jets never gave up that lead as the Patriots didn’t score in the second half and the Jets won 16 – 9.
In Tennessee it was a back and forth high scoring battle between the Houston Texans and Titans. There was a ton of scoring in the first half of this one as the teams headed into the locker room at halftime tied 24 – 24. It settled down in the second half as only 17 total points were scored, with the Texans driving down in the fourth quarter and kicking the game winning field goal with 2:34 to go. Texans quarterback Matt Schaub had a huge day as he threw for four touchdowns and 357 yards.
