Yonkers Tornado

Reports of toppled trees and golf ball-sized hail in Yonkers and Westchester County has launched an investigation by National Weather Service to determine if a tornado moved through the area. The National Weather Service is investigating reports of at least one tornado in the Yonkers area after a storm blew through the area Tuesday night into early Wednesday.
According to several accounts, trees were knocked over and homes were without power when a powerful storm moved through the area, leaving Westchester with reports of a tornado touching down. Experts are investigating to determine if a twister caused the damage - or if just strong wind gusts and hail were responsible.
Yonkers, NY -- Developer William "Bill" Struever's benevolent demeanor could not stand up to the financial woes that have gripped the nation. His financial empire has been wounded. He has pulled out of the SFC Yonkers Inc. project, though no official statement to that affect has been made by either Yonkers City Hall or the Yonkers City Council.
