A gunman opened fire in a library at the University of Texas at Austin, and then shot and killed himself, police officers and the university on Tuesday.
Police Chief Art Acevedo told NBC News that the dead man suffered what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No shots were fired by police, said Acevedo.
NBC News reported that the officers had an AK-47 recovered from scene.University spokeswoman Rhonda Weldon said no one else was injured during shooting Tuesday morning in the Perry-Castañeda Library.
