bcs standings 2009

bcs standings 2009
The first BCS ranking of the year 2009 will be published in a Sunday afternoon, and everyone agrees that there are a couple of SEC teams, Florida and Alabama, the two followed by No. 3 Texas But what comes next? The normally precise BCS Guru, the Boise State edge at USC spot # 4 and the balance will consist of more than 10 Iowa, LSU, Cincinnati, TCU and Miami.
But the BCS standings are mostly a curiosity at this time of year. There's no prize for being atop the BCS on Oct. 18; the prize comes at the end of the season. So what's likely to happen over the next seven weeks? For starters, obviously, either Florida or Alabama will lose, because if they keep winning they'll meet in the SEC Championship Game. That means Texas just needs to keep winning, and they'll be in the BCS title game. The Longhorns' toughest remaining game is their next one, at Oklahoma State.
What can be put Boise State in the BCS title game conversation Oregon upsetting USC on Halloween. Since Boise State beats Oregon in the opening period, a Ducks victory is huge for the Trojans strength is the Broncos' expected and their reputation among the voters of the poll.
