Russian-born singer/songwriter Regina Spektor has planned a North American outing this fall behind her summertime release, "Far." The 18-city club and theater trek begins in the East with a performance tonight (10/7) in Atlanta and an Oct. 12 show in Northampton, MA, before moving to the West Coast and working its way back through the Midwest. One Canadian date--Nov. 2 in Vancouver--also made the itinerary, which winds down with a Nov. 19 concert in Louisville, KY. Details are included below. Spektor will head across the pond for a European excursion that will cap off 2009. Information about international performances is posted at the performer's website.
"Far," Spektor's fifth studio effort, rolled out in June and debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200. The Sire Records release follows 2006's "Begin to Hope," which Rolling Stone magazine deemed one of the best albums of the year. Last Friday (10/2), Spektor released a live six-song EP via iTunes, aptly titled "iTunes Live from SoHo." The short collection features five tracks from the recently released "Far" and one single'--"Apres Moi"--from her 2006 album.
